Adenomyosis and the toll on the body

No one tells you how bad it is with adenomyosis. No one tells you how your emotions are going to be everywhere and anything can set you off.

No one tells you how much pain and pressure you will be in nor how much trouble it can give you.

You can go from having periods to not having periods to having spontaneous periods to the point you never know when they will come on. You can also have heavy bleeding and lots of cramping with it and if you have PCOS on top of it like I do, it is a different ball game and makes everything so much tougher.

No one tells you that you can  have nausea, vomiting and diarrhea or constipation with this because your uterus can press on your intestines and or bladder and give you unitary incontinence and then suddenly your bowels will work randomly.

You will also have back pain and everything feels like its falling out and your uterus feels like its going to fall out from the weight of it in which I was told it could fall out.

No one tells you that you will end up looking 6 months pregnant and gain weight that you cannot loose no matter how hard you try but yet you try to calorie count and do odd and ends to loose weight and it does not work.

With adenomyosis, your mental health will go horrible. You feel like you are isolated and alone when you are not. You're anxiety and depression are at an all time high. Your legs become restless and your body will ache.

Everything feels like its wrong and the world is crashing down on you. Everything you do feels wrong. It makes you feel worthless and a failure and so much more and just causes over all hormone madness because you are happy, you can be sad, depressed, irritated and all kinds of other moods.

You can end up having insomnia with it and or sleeping to much. There is a lot to know about adenomyosis.

The pain that I have felt and dealt with for about 4 years now is unbearable at times. It hurts on my lower left abdomen to the point we thought it was my colon but it is not. I went GI surfing and Primary doctors surfing to be told its not GI related. I have been dealing with bloating, missing periods, nausea, vomiting and diarrhea and now we know why and what is happening.

The only treatments they will give is a IUD in which I was told it would not work for me but they still offered, a HIFU in which is a device that goes inside of your uterus and burns the tissue and takes 1-2 days to recover in which it is a 85% chance of working and it can come back or an hysterectomy and it takes 4-6 weeks to recover but with the hysterectomy it is 100%  since the uterus is being removed.

adenomyosis

I would not wish this pain on anyone. I woke up with what feels to be my uterus doubled the size. I am having back pain and my groin feels like something is going to fall out of it.

It feels heavy and pressure. It feels as if you're in never ending labor and the baby is ready to come out but there is no baby there. The pain is kind of bad but not bad at the same time.

The pooping is what gets me. One minute your constipated the next you have diarrhea all because the organs are getting pressed on and squeezed. Also my ovaries burns all the time.

I feel like something is going to fall out also because the pain and pressure. Sometimes I have no appetite other times I do and it's a messed up situation.

These ultrasounds are from my actual scans.

Here is what it started out like Click here to go to the beginning.

I am finally at peace now knowing what is causing this and what is happening. Hopefully after 3 years of suffering, I can get better and find some work but until then, if you would like to help me out you can buy something from my links and or tip to my tip me.

Update! adenomyosis

Ultrasound is from my actual scan

They found out I have adenomyosis on top of everything and they are planning on doing surgery because of everything that is going on. In which my uterus does not shed like it is suppose to and all the skin and tissue ends up growing internally in which can cause pain, pressure, nausea vomiting, weight gain, weight loss, it makes you bloated to look as if you are pregnant. I am also on the higher scale than the normal one in which it is bad so surgeon is more than likely going to remove it.

It also makes you not have a period. It feels your groin feels heavy and have a lot of pressure so you cannot have inner course because the uterus itself swells up and grows bigger than what it is suppose to be and it can also feel like it is going to fall down or out.

It also can make you have painful periods, heavy bleeding, loss of appetite, urine incomitances and bowel change habits from soft and nice to constipation to diarrhea. It can also be difficult to loose weight with this and if you have PCOS on top of it it is even worst.

They found it in ultrasound. It looks like fish netting on my uterus wall and it was a lot of it.

We have finally diagnose my mystery illness from the past 3 years and hopefully when this is done I will feel way better.

Get a 3rd-4th opinion for your health

Hi, I am Lovely and I have been looking for answers about my pain, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea since 2021 and I finally am getting them.

What started out to be pain in the lower left abdomen, nausea, vomiting has gave me the run around. I have been ER surfing, Primary surfing, OB surfing trying to get answers from an unknown illness. No one knew what it was. I was violently ill. It started as nausea, vomiting and diarrhea, fatigue and pain down the left side by my colon. Doctors pushed me to GI, GI did a colonoscopy, endoscopy and biopsy and said it wasn’t us and pushed me away.

I went to the hospital for pain and they saw a cyst on my ovary and told me to follow up with my OBGYN back in 2022 in which she brushed me off and kind of laughed at me but she did diagnosed me with PCOS told me it was fine. I ended up going to primary and then they referred me out to GI in 2024 and that’s when I got the scopes.

I ended up going to a primary and she tried to put me on Prozac. I ended up dropping her and then went to the hospital and then found another primary.

He tried Lizess cause everyone thought it was GI related. Went to another hospital to find out my ovary was twisted back in 2022 but by the time I went back it untwisted itself.

The symptoms kind of eased off enough for me to deal with it for the rest of 2024, until recently.

I stayed in constant pain and had pressure in my groin and pelvic. It was like I had to poop really bad and it would not come out. It was a lot of discomfort. I was bloating, my weight gain was going up and down and no matter what I did.

  Actual image of my ultrasound

I ended up going to another primary and then she ordered an ultrasound but the ultrasound could not find anything and ended up going to the hospital and they did a CT scan and found my Fibroid so I ended up switching OBGYN and she told me it’s not in your head it’s actually happening and that I have PCOS on top of it all that it was going to cause pain and be difficult.

She ended up doing a pelvic ultrasound and we actually found out that I have adenomyosis which is the opposite of endomitosis. Adenomyosis does not allow the uterus to shed the way it is suppose to meaning you don’t have periods as often and when you do it is heavy and painful. Everything grows inward and nothing sheds causing the uterus to weigh down and enlarge and causes all kinds of issues because it presses on the bowels and other things making it so that you cannot poop and things back up causing nausea, vomiting and diarrhea.

My next step is finally talk to the surgeon November 26th in hopes he will take it out.

Hopefully after surgery I can finally get to work since I have not been able to since the beginning of 2021.
