Adenomyosis and the toll on the body

No one tells you how bad it is with adenomyosis. No one tells you how your emotions are going to be everywhere and anything can set you off.

No one tells you how much pain and pressure you will be in nor how much trouble it can give you.

You can go from having periods to not having periods to having spontaneous periods to the point you never know when they will come on. You can also have heavy bleeding and lots of cramping with it and if you have PCOS on top of it like I do, it is a different ball game and makes everything so much tougher.

No one tells you that you can  have nausea, vomiting and diarrhea or constipation with this because your uterus can press on your intestines and or bladder and give you unitary incontinence and then suddenly your bowels will work randomly.

You will also have back pain and everything feels like its falling out and your uterus feels like its going to fall out from the weight of it in which I was told it could fall out.

No one tells you that you will end up looking 6 months pregnant and gain weight that you cannot loose no matter how hard you try but yet you try to calorie count and do odd and ends to loose weight and it does not work.

With adenomyosis, your mental health will go horrible. You feel like you are isolated and alone when you are not. You're anxiety and depression are at an all time high. Your legs become restless and your body will ache.

Everything feels like its wrong and the world is crashing down on you. Everything you do feels wrong. It makes you feel worthless and a failure and so much more and just causes over all hormone madness because you are happy, you can be sad, depressed, irritated and all kinds of other moods.

You can end up having insomnia with it and or sleeping to much. There is a lot to know about adenomyosis.

The pain that I have felt and dealt with for about 4 years now is unbearable at times. It hurts on my lower left abdomen to the point we thought it was my colon but it is not. I went GI surfing and Primary doctors surfing to be told its not GI related. I have been dealing with bloating, missing periods, nausea, vomiting and diarrhea and now we know why and what is happening.

The only treatments they will give is a IUD in which I was told it would not work for me but they still offered, a HIFU in which is a device that goes inside of your uterus and burns the tissue and takes 1-2 days to recover in which it is a 85% chance of working and it can come back or an hysterectomy and it takes 4-6 weeks to recover but with the hysterectomy it is 100%  since the uterus is being removed.
