Love Yourself First

I was told recently that in order to love someone else you have to love yourself first. Well as I questioned them they told me that I have to talk everything out and let go of the things that cause me anger. I have started to actually love my self more today. I finally told my wife everything and parts of my past right before we met that was keeping me mad at myself. I don't know how to get past that part in my past. I try to push it back and out of my mind but it keeps coming back. I lost my aunt before we met and I didn't get to say bye or do something for her. I loved her just like I love my mother. Shortly after I lost her, I met my wife and it was like it was all planned. I have got mad and done things that I shouldn't have but even though I make her mad my wife has still stayed by my side and hasn't left. I have said things to her that should have never made it to the light of day. I Love her with all my heart and I want to spend the rest of my life with her.
