Fajas after baby

Okay, let’s be real for a second—having a baby does a number on your body. You go through nine months of stretching, carrying, and aching, and then once baby arrives, your body feels like it’s been hit by a truck (in the most beautiful way possible, of course). Postpartum recovery is not easy, and if you’re anything like me, you’re looking for anything that makes the process a little smoother.

Fajas

If you’ve never heard of one, it’s basically a postpartum girdle or compression garment, and let me just say… it’s a total game-changer. Here’s why I swear by them:

1. They Hold Everything Together

After birth, your stomach muscles feel weak and your whole midsection just feels… off. When I wore a faja, it was like my body finally had the support it was craving. Simple things like walking around, picking up the baby, or even sitting up in bed were so much easier.

2. Your Back Will Thank You

Between breastfeeding, carrying the baby, and just being exhausted, my posture was horrible, and my back hurt constantly. A faja actually helped me stand straighter and eased some of that lower back pain. It’s like a little reminder to stop slouching.

3. Bye-Bye Swelling

Nobody really talks about how swollen you get after having a baby. I felt puffy and uncomfortable for weeks. Wearing a faja helped with circulation and really did cut down on the swelling for me.

4. Instant Confidence Boost

Postpartum bodies are amazing, but they’re also different—and it can take time to feel good in your own skin again. When I wore a faja, my clothes fit better, I looked smoother under my outfits, and honestly… I just felt more confident walking around. And that little mental boost goes a long way.

5. If You Had a C-Section…

I didn’t realize how helpful a faja could be after a C-section until I saw other moms talk about it. The gentle pressure around the incision area makes moving around less uncomfortable and gives you that extra bit of protection when you laugh, sneeze, or cough (because OUCH).  I had three of them and let me tell you they were rough! Even car rides were the worst! Of course, always check with your doctor first.

6. Helps You Feel "Put Back Together"

When your uterus is shrinking back down and your body is adjusting, it can feel really weird inside. Wearing a faja gave me that “held together” feeling that made the healing process feel less overwhelming.

7. Not Just for the First Weeks

The best part? Fajas aren’t just for immediately after birth. I wore mine months later too—sometimes for workouts, sometimes just on days when my body felt heavy and I wanted that extra support.

Listen, postpartum recovery looks different for everyone. Some moms bounce back fast, others (like me) need a little more time and support—and that’s 100% okay. For me, a faja wasn’t just about looking better in my clothes. It was about feeling supported, standing taller, and being a little more comfortable while adjusting to my new “mom body.”

So if you’re about to have a baby or just had one, do yourself a favor and try a faja. Honestly, it was one of the best postpartum decisions I made.
