The Bragging Game: How Success Can Sometimes Feel Like a Competition You Didn’t Sign Up For

We’ve all encountered it at one point or another: someone who feels the need to constantly remind you of what they have or what they've accomplished. Maybe it's the flashy new car, a recent promotion, or their latest travel adventures. Whatever it is, it’s often shared in a way that feels less like a celebration and more like a subtle, or not-so-subtle, brag.

Let’s be clear—there's nothing wrong with being proud of your accomplishments. Everyone has a right to be proud of their hard work and the things they’ve earned. But it’s also undeniable that there’s a particular way some people carry their successes that can leave others feeling small or like they’re falling behind. It’s as if they’re not just sharing their good news—they're rubbing it in your face.

The problem doesn’t lie in the achievements themselves. It’s in the way they can make others feel. For those who are working tirelessly, putting in long hours, trying to climb the ladder, or simply trying to make progress, hearing about someone else’s success can be discouraging. It can feel like a reminder of how much further they still need to go, and how much harder it seems for them compared to others who seem to have it all handed to them.

And that’s the tough part. You can be doing everything right—making moves, pushing yourself, trying your hardest—and yet, when you’re surrounded by people constantly talking about how much they’ve achieved, it can start to feel like your own journey isn’t enough. That what you’re doing isn’t good enough. And suddenly, the excitement for your own progress is overshadowed by the shadow of someone else’s accomplishments.

Success is often not an overnight thing, and for many, it’s a constant grind—a slow and steady journey that requires resilience, patience, and a lot of personal growth. But when you’re constantly faced with reminders of others’ successes, it can be hard not to compare yourself. And comparison, as we all know, is a slippery slope that leads to self-doubt and frustration.

The truth is, no one else’s success should dim your light. Your journey is unique to you, and the path you're carving out is yours to define. It’s easy to get caught up in what others are doing and forget that everyone's timeline is different. Just because someone else is further along doesn’t mean you're not on your way.

At the end of the day, we all need to remind ourselves that our progress is valid. Whether it’s a small win or a big milestone, it counts. The only competition is with who we were yesterday, not with those around us.

So, the next time you find yourself feeling overshadowed by someone else's success, take a deep breath and remember: your journey is just as valuable, just as important. Keep moving forward, keep working, and don’t let anyone else’s shine dim yours.

People and there behavior.

It is like you can give give give and people will take take take but when you need something they don't know you or they can't help you for some excuse of a reason. You can go around giving the shirt off your back but when you need something look around and see who is there for you.

If you were a few dollars short who would give it to you or who would give you a sad excuse? If you were in the hospital who would actually come see you? You got to look around your friend group and make sure they are for you and not only there for what they can get and if you confront them about it then they complain and make up more excuses of why they can't or just anything really just for you to try to feel sorry. I can't feel sorry anymore. I can't help those that refuse to do something on their own and then try to put it off and blame others and make excuses.

You can give a person an inch and try to help them out but they will end up taking a mile and keep taking until you have nothing or they can't take anymore. So be careful helping and make sure they are not taking advantage of you and it is definitely okay to say no and putting your needs and wants up front before them.

Wise| International Currency transferring service

Wise is an international money transfer service that lets you send, receive, and convert currencies at some of the lowest fees on the market. I personally use Wise all the time because I work for Clickworker and other freelancing platforms that pay me in Euros. With Wise, I can easily receive my payments, convert them to USD, and transfer them to my bank without losing money to high conversion fees.

If you earn money online, work with international clients, shop globally, or just want a smarter way to move your money, Wise is a must-have. It’s fast, secure, transparent, and saves you way more than traditional banks. Joining Wise gives you control over your payments and keeps more of your hard-earned money where it belongs—with you.

Get wise here free (transfer more, but we'll waive the fee on the first 600 USD.)

I have to have Hysterectomy

I recently received confirmation that I will be having a hysterectomy due to severe adenomyosis and the condition of my uterus.

My doctor also believes my uterus may be prolapsing, which explains the pain and pressure I’ve been feeling in my groin area.

If everything goes smoothly, my recovery time will be about 4–6 weeks. However, there is also a possibility that I may need additional surgery on my bladder, depending on how much scarring there is from my previous three C-sections.

Right now we’re waiting for the surgeon to call with an exact date, but it’s looking like the procedure will happen around Christmas.

Since I won’t be able to work during recovery, any support—whether through purchasing from my links or leaving a tip—is greatly appreciated, though absolutely not required. Your kindness means a lot during this time.

Here are my links if you’d like to help:

Endark 3-Burner Propane Gas Grill - It is worth it (Temu)

We took a chance on this grill from Temu thinking it might not be legit… but wow, it proved us wrong in the best way! It’s a 3-burner gas grill that heats fast, cooks evenly, and has been completely problem-free for us.

A heads-up: a standard large propane tank won’t fit underneath, but the smaller tanks fit perfectly. We grabbed this grill on a Black Friday deal for $76 USD, and honestly—it was worth every single penny.

If you get one, I highly recommend pairing it with a flattop and some nonstick spray. The cooktop is 19x13, so you can size your flattop
perfectly. Once we screwed the hose on correctly (our mistake 😅), we had zero leaks and zero issues.

And the food? Foil meals, hotdogs, grilled chicken—everything came out amazing.

If you come across this grill, don’t hesitate—grab it! You won’t regret it.
