I’ve been doing affiliate marketing since 2019, and over the years I’ve noticed a lot of changes—some good, some not so great. One of the biggest issues I’ve seen recently is the way certain companies handle discount codes. Many sites give their affiliates exclusive codes, but then turn around and create their own codes with even better discounts or higher commission rates. When they promote those instead, it completely undercuts the affiliates who are trying to earn.
This shift makes it more challenging for small affiliates who rely on fair opportunities and honest structures. The landscape is definitely changing, and not always in a way that benefits the people doing the work behind the scenes.
