Krystexxa for gout

Krystexxa is an infusion that they give for gout. However it is not your normal infusion. For starters you have to take a steroid and an allergy med before you can even start the infusion because it can send you into allergic response.You also have 2 days out of every two weeks you have to go for this. One day is for blood work for uric acid the next day is for the infusion.It is given while you are at the facility. If you did not know Krystexxa can pretty much give you a severe allergic reaction and they have a lot of precautions for it. They start giving you Methotrexate 4 weeks prior to help with the immune systems to avoid reactions.

There are things that they do not tell you about this. Such as it may or may not be beneficial to you. It takes a while for the insurance to even touch and clear it if they do. It cost 30,000 to $35,000 per 8 mg single-dose via but with the doctors and nurses and the facility it costs 135k-150k each time.

It takes joint stiffness start to leave in 24 hours. You can end up having even worst flareups within that time period.

The bad part some of the flare ups can last up to a month and a lot of people report no flare ups.

A lot of people also report it may work it may not work.

If they draw the uric acid that determines if it works or does not work or if its even worth continuing.

The first visit it could show an effect but the second visit it could of not work so it is a toss up.

My husband has finally gotten approved for this but we already know his job is going to let him go because of everything so I am trying to find ways to make money on the side while I am taking care of him and our kids and homeschooling them.
