Classic 3-Ingredient Snow Cream

8-10 cups fresh, clean snow (light and fluffy is best)

1 (14-ounce) can sweetened condensed milk (chilled is best)

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions:

Collect the Snow: Gather fresh snow in a large bowl. Avoid snow that has touched the ground, trees, or is discolored.

Combine: Pour the sweetened condensed milk and vanilla over the snow.

Mix: Fold the ingredients together gently with a spoon or spatula until it reaches a creamy, soft-serve consistency.

Serve: Enjoy immediately as it melts quickly.

Alternative "From-Scratch" Recipe

If you do not have sweetened condensed milk, use this version:

1 cup milk or cream (whole milk, half-and-half, or heavy cream)

1/3 to 1/2 cup white sugar

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Pinch of salt (optional, to balance sweetness)

8-10 cups clean snow

Instructions:

Whisk the milk, sugar, vanilla, and salt together in a bowl until the sugar is dissolved.

Optional: Chill this mixture in the refrigerator or freezer before adding to the snow.

Slowly fold the mixture into the snow until it reaches the desired consistency.

The Winter Weather 2026 + Weather apps are displaying wrong

No one knows what the weather is doing. If you download or look at multiple weather apps or channels each one says it is doing something else and a different temperature. We had sleet, snow, ice, rain and a little thunderstorm all at once. It was crazy.

This weather is crazy. We are also in a ice storm warning which makes it so much bad but all radars are saying something else.

This storm has not only affected Texas but it has affected Louisiana, Kentucky, North and South Carolina, Georgia, Alabama, New Mexico, Massachusetts, New York, Kansas, and a bunch of other states on the East coast.

Each weather app we have looked at so far is saying it is 31 degrees and snowing but when looking at others they are saying it is raining.

We have been trying to follow the weather so we know what to prepare for but it is hard when none of the channels are projecting and predicting correctly.

I know the weather, changed periodically but it is kind of crazy that each one is saying something different but then a few of
them are saying the same but when you are going to look for it and go to different websites they are all different and you don't know what to actually believe unless you look outside for yourself and get a thermometer.

They are also saying this stuff is suppose to come back January 30th-Janurary 31st 2026 and honestly I hope it does not. It is a mess and everyone went crazy in the stores buying multiple of the same items and people that needed it did not get it.  We also saw some price gouging on a lot of items which also sucks because people could not afford the things they need.

They also went crazy with the kerosene heaters and a lot of people are trying to sell them now because they bought them up and I have a feeling we are going to see a lot of generators for sale since people bought a lot of those too.

No matter what it is always best to prepare because we never know what may happen. The power lines can get heavy from the ice and or trees and could end up breaking and it can take hours for them to get it back online. It is best to get some kind of heater but you are going to have to watch it because if  you get a propane one you have to be sure that it is not leaking and one way to do that is take a spray bottle put some dishwashing liquid and water and spray around the seal. If there is a leak it will bubble up and can save you from having a fire.

If you happen to have an ice storm and do not have salt, you can make a homemade ice melt by mixing 1/2 gallon of warm water, 6 drops of dish soap, and 2 ounces of rubbing alcohol.

I must say this weather has gotten rough. A lot of places are having exploding trees due to the cold and then powerlines are falling.

People are out and about and there were a lot of wrecks happening and it is everywhere. Tomorrow's temperatures are not going to be any better. It is suppose to be in the 40s but after 1pm and then it is going to be 17 degrees in which everything is going to freeze right back up.
