My Aunt and Uncle needs assistance

This year has been especially hard for my family. My 11-year-old cousin didn’t receive anything for Christmas because of circumstances completely outside her control. My aunt was fired from her job due to ongoing health issues such as an infection in her leg and her kidneys having issues, and her husband is disabled and doing everything he can to provide. Despite their efforts, bills quickly fell behind.

Here is a photo of her leg during her hospital visit.
They are currently struggling to catch up on rent for the lot they’re renting, while also trying to keep their home warm. They rely on kerosene for heat, and with temperatures dropping back into the 20s next week, that need is urgent. On top of that, the heater core in their truck went out, which makes things even harder since they use that vehicle to get my cousin to and from school.

As much as I wish I could step in and help financially, I’m not in a position to do so. I’m scheduled for surgery on January 14th and will be down for four to six weeks during recovery. That reality means I have to prepare for my own medical needs and stability.

This is one of those moments where caring deeply doesn’t automatically mean being able to help. It’s painful to admit, but it’s also honest. Sometimes all you can do is share the story, hope for kindness from others, and recognize your own limits.

They are trying to raise $1600 do they can get back on their feet.

They have a gofundme here!
